The Story Behind Red Pelican Travel

I’m Stephanie, based in St. Petersburg, Florida, a city that inspires me. It’s laid-back, the kind of easy West Coast Florida vibe I enjoy. I’ve always loved discovering new places, the anticipation before you go and the feeling once you’re actually there.

Growing up in New Hampshire, it was the view from the top of the mountain on ski trips, and swimming at Lower Falls along the Kancamagus Highway. I didn’t realize it then, but that’s when I started paying attention to what made a place feel special.

As I got older, that curiosity grew. It wasn’t enough to just visit a place, I wanted to experience it. To connect with it. An extended stay in New Mexico gave me time to settle in and get to know somewhere, instead of just passing through.

That curiosity eventually led me to start Red Pelican Travel. It was inspired by home. The red pelicans at the St. Pete Pier welcome every visitor. That’s the feeling I wanted people to get from Red Pelican Travel. It’s the same curiosity that started this journey, and it’s still what’s driving where I take this next.
